Museums in Antibes

TheGrimaldi Castle was converted into a museum in 1928 and in 1946 the curator Dor de la Souchere invited Picasso to set up his studio in the castle.  Picasso remained there for several months and produced many major works including sketches and ceramics which he donated to the city.

Peynet Museum

The museum is dedicated to the cartoonist who lived in Antibes.  The museum displays a varied selection of the artists work including posters, theatrical sets and dolls.

Archaeology Museum

Located in the vaulted corridors of the Bastion Saint-Andre, the museum gives an insight into the prestigious past of the ancient town of Antipolis.
